It’s a fundraiser Miltonians can sink their teeth into — literally.
Milton Bible Church’s Mission of Hope Haiti team is set to host the third annual Savour Milton on Friday, June 12 at Southside Community Church (7480 Derry Rd.).
Running from 6:30 to 8 p.m., the event — in which guests can sample foods from a variety of local restaurants — will support the mission team’s summer trip to Haiti.
There they’ve partnered with the 3 Cords project, a small business initiative started after the country’s devastating earthquake of 2010. It employs amputee women and mothers of amputee children to make such accessories as handbags and headbands.
Some of this merchandise will be available for sale at Savour Milton, with 10 per cent of the proceeds going to the mission team’s trip and the rest going directly back to 3 Cords.
The event will include entertainment by Susan Edmonds of Edmonds Music Studio. A list of participating restaurants can be found at facebook.com/savourmilton2015.
