The federal Milton NDP Electoral District Association (EDA) has re-scheduled its nomination meeting to Monday, May 25.
The meeting was originally scheduled for April 28, but due to the high level of interest from EDA members, the nomination sign up period was extended to ensure maximum participation, said Milton EDA President Edie Strachan.
To date, Alex Anabusi and Jan Mowbray have put in their names for the nomination. Anabusi is a healthcare professional and community advocate who chose to run for the federal nomination “to bring positive change to all lives of all Canadians and their families” and “to hold government accountable to its actions which affect Canadians and their families.”
Mowbray, a former local councillor, said she believes the NDP is the only party that can return equity to society.
The meeting will take place at Hugh Foster Hall, 141 King St., from 6 to 9 pm.
