Milton’s only two American Hockey League players will be swapping homes after being part of today’s NHL trade deadline activity.

In a talk-about-a-coincidence deal, parent club Colorado traded centre Michael Sgarbossa to Anaheim in exchange for defenceman Mat Clark.

The move will see 22-year-old Sgarbossa — who had a brief call-up with the Avalanche in early December, recording one assist in three games — head to the Norfolk Admirals and 24-year-old Clark pack his bags to join the Lake Erie Monsters.

A 6-foot-3, 225-pound blueliner, Clark has a goal and five assists this season, while 5-foot-11, 180-pound Sgarbossa has scored four times and added 19 helpers.

Clark, who was born in Wheat Ridge, Colo. before moving to Canada, made his NHL debut with the Ducks during the 2011-12 season, playing two games. This year, the 24-year-old played seven games with Anaheim, picking up an assist for his first NHL point.
