Milton Shopping
Because Milton is an upscale residential community with an average household income of almost $100,000 per year, many intriguing shopping boutiques, clothing stores, food stores and other specialty stores thrive in the surrounding region. One of the most popular shopping centers is the North Point Mall at 1000 North Point Circle in Alpharetta. North Point Mall contains hundreds of stores, many restaurants, a snack food court, and even a vintage carousel for children to ride.
The Historic Shops of Crabapple at 765 Mid Broadwell Road in Alpharetta is another popular shopping center with an old-fashioned marketplace atmosphere typified by antique stores and novelty gift shops. Crabapple also hosts an annual Old Times at Crabapple Antique Festival from May through October at which more than 100 antique dealers from different states present their best merchandise.
The single largest antique mall in the area is Queen of Hearts Antique Mall at 700 North Main Street in Alpharetta. More than 130 antique dealers utilize the mall’s 33,000 sq. ft. of space to showcase vintage European and early American furniture, glassware, silverware, pottery, books and other collectible items all year round.
Downtown Alpharetta and Historic Roswell are popular shopping centers
Downtown Alpharetta is a popular location for shoppers because it contains so many unique stores, antique shops and cafes. The City of Roswell's Historic District also contains many antique shops, art galleries and specialty stores where unique bargains can be found. People enjoy strolling through the streets of Roswell's Historic District, soaking up the ambiance presented by the old storefronts, and discovering many little pathways off the main streets that contain even more shopping opportunities.
Some interesting new shopping centers are also developing around Milton
In 2006, a portion of Crabapple that contains 100 year-old historic structures and a modern village was incorporated into the City of Milton. Centered at the crossroads of Georgia Highways 140 and 372, Crabapple Crossroads features quaint shopping boutiques, art galleries, and many fine restaurants.
In Alpharetta just off Highway 9, Windward Promenade is a 48,185 sq. ft. specialty shopping center with over 20 upscale shops and restaurants that attract many customers because the center is near Wal-Mart, Costco, Home Depot and Lowe’s Home Improvement Center.
Deerfield Place is another new retail development that opened during 2008 on the northeast corner of Webb Road and Georgia S.R. 9 in Milton. Anchored by a Super Target Store, Staples and Petco, Deerfield Place also anticipates the opening of Payless Shoe Source, Famous Footwear, Kohl’s, Fantastic Sam’s and many other stores.
