Global Pet Foods and former Dragon’s Den investor Brett Wilson are teaming up to help homeless animals.

From Jan. 31 to Feb. 14, Global Pet Foods, Natural Balance and Wilson are asking Canadians to visit a Global Pet Foods location and make a donation during the annual ‘Show us Your Heart’ campaign. Global Pet Foods will match the first dollar of every in-store donation. Donations can also be made online by visiting globalpetfoods.com.

All proceeds will be donated to local pet shelters and groups.

“Small donations add up and make a big difference to smaller community-based groups who can use the funds to cover expenses for veterinary care, buy food or just keep the lights on,” said Jim Walker, president of Global Pet Foods.

Global Pet Foods is also hosting its annual ‘Show Us Your Pet’ contest. You can share a picture of your pet to win prizes. For more information, visit Facebook.com/globalpetfoods.

“Family and pets have always been a big part of my life,” said Wilson, who has a pet poodle, J. Cash. “Animals don’t have anyone to speak for them, so we have to step up. Show Us Your Heart is a great opportunity for J. Cash and I to put our faces forward and help animals in need.”

Global Pet Foods Oakville location is at 1011 Upper Middle Road East. It is located at 3550 Dundas St. and 450 Appleby Line in Burlington and at 1030 Kennedy Circle and 400 Main St. E in Milton.
