It's lightly raining at Mac, and could get worse, in which case the battle of the trenches that we talked about in this morning's Spec (you read it, of course), becomes more important as it always does on a slick field.

For the layman, Ticat guard/centre Tim O'Neill took a minute to explain why the couple of yards either side of the line of scrimmage are such important keys to offence;

Take it away, Tim:

“Plays break down faster the closer they are to the line of scrimmage. You make a mistake up front, the play’s gone right away. A receiver makes a mistake you might not notice. If the D line is able to do what they want the whole offence struggles."
